Société Générale, Lyxor Bring In New ETF Heads

Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking and Lyxor Asset Management have brought in two new chiefs to head up the new exchange-traded funds management team in Europe. Simon Klein has been appointed as head of ETF for Europe, effective 1 January. He joins from Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt where he was head of ETF and ETC sales for continental Europe. In his new role Klein will be based in Frankfurt, reporting to David Escoffier and Laurent Seyer, co-head of global equity flow at Société Générale CIB and chief executive of Lyxor Asset Management, respectively. Meanwhile Nizam Hamid has taken the reins as head of ETF strategy and deputy head of ETF Europe, effective 22 November 2010. He joins the bank from Blackrock/BGI in London where he was head of ETF strategy for EMEA. Hamid has over 20 years experience in cash equities, quant research and ETFs. In his new role Hamid will be based in London and will report to Klein.
